Face of Australia Face Base Primer SPF 15 3 in 1

Hi guys! just a quick review on the Face of Australia Face Base Primer SPF 15 3 in 1. I'm loving this primer at the moment!

"Face of Australia Face Base Primer SPF 15 3 in 1 is a moisturiser, primer, and sunscreen in one. The primer has been specially formulated to smooth skin tone, fill lines, deliver instant hydration to the skin, and control shine. The primer also improves the lasting power of foundation and is oil free, so it won’t clog pores."

So just quickly..
1. The smell of this primer is great! i can't think of a particular thing it smells like but it smells very fresh. It is quite a powerful smell so if you want something with little or no scent then maybe this isn't for you.
2. It is very lightweight, and dries quite fast.
3. Even though in the tube it's white, it is clear when you apply it.
4. In some reviews i read about this, people had mixed emotions as they felt it made their skin a little oily, but i have no issue with it.
5. I have quite sensitive skin, and so far i have not have any reactions, so i'm a happy camper :)

PLUS it doesn't hurt that it has SPF in it for us pale people ha ha.

The downside is that i don't feel that it fills in lines. I don't have any lines (yet), but mum and i have the same primer and it doesn't really do anything for her lines.

Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner

"Only our oil-free formula can hold highly concentrated pigments in a clear gel base.

-So color is more intense and lines resist wear for 24 hours.
-Smudge-proof and Water-proof.
-The most intense line for lasting drama."

Before i get started, ill just add that i haven't bought a gel liner before, because i thought they would be annoying to work with, and i love my liquid liners so i was a little reluctant to believe anything was better than then- I'm so small minded.

    EyeStudio_290
  • PROS: It is easily blendable. It does dry, but not quick enough that you cant blend it out or get rid of any little mistakes. The colour goes on very nicely, and it quite opaque on the first application, although you may want to go over it again to make it even bolder. I think i have finally found a great eye liner that doesn't smudge when you don't want it to! i slept with it on the other night (naughty, i know) and i woke up with it still in tact!
  • I have found the formula to be smooth, and goes on very nicely. And even though i have seen some other reviews on this saying that the brush was rubbish, i honestly think the quality of the brush is great and makes the gel easy to apply. It would make more sense to have an angled brush for it, but no biggy, i like the one it has.
  • I also like how much this cost. I think they're around $18, but i got mine from a discount warehouse (thank goodness for them!) and it was close to $14.
  • I found it easier than a liquid liner to hold because it is a brush and I'm not trying to hold on to a fiddly little lid, and left like i had more control over what i was doing- far less mistakes!

CONS: The only con i have is that it doesn't come off unless you use a face scrub, but even then it gets all under your eyes and you look like a drowned Panda. But, it not coming off easily isn't really a bad thing, i mean, aren't we always looking for that magic eye liner that just stays on?

PACKAGING: The packaging is quite plain, but nice and simple. It comes in a small glass jar with a black lid with silver writing on it, and a black brush. At first i was a little annoyed at the size of he jar (it didn't seem like there was much in there) but as i examined it i realised for what you use it for, there is plenty- its size also makes it easy to keep it in your bag if needed.

There are some really nice other colours, like a dark saphire blue, and an eggplant pruple that i also have my eye on!

..Sorry liquid liner, i think you may have just been replaced!

DIY Wrap Bracelets & Watermark T-shirt

So, i have just discovered a website called StumbleUpon. This website is so neat! The concept is that you let them know what your interests are, and they will find blogs to suit your interests. You keep clicking the 'Stumble' button, and each time it will take you to a new blog it thinks you will enjoy.
I am not able to get off it, some people just have the best ideas!

NYX Super Skinny Eye Marker

"The micro-fine felt tip on this eye liner means you can use it for everything from filling in your eyelash line to a subtle cat-eye look. The eye marker application is smooth and the striking results are long-lasting and smudge-proof."

PROS: It is really easy to control the pen, and having a thin tip makes it a lot easier to build up a line as opposed to the Super Fat Marker, where you have no choice but to have a thick line.
It does dry fast, but gives you time to fix up any little mistakes, and unless it is rubbed, will stay on quite well for long periods of time, especially with a primer.
I really like it because i don't have a very steady hand when it comes to liquid eye liner, but holding it like a pen makes it easier to apply.

CONS: At first, the liner was very pigmented, but after a few uses it become more sheer and when i would try to build up the colour, it would almost rub away what i had already done.

PACKAGING: Because this packaging is exactly the same as the NYX Super Fat Eye Marker, feel free to read my thoughts on it by clicking the link to my other review :)

INGREDIENTS: Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin,
Alcohol, Black 2 (CI 77266), Polyacrylate-16, Disodium
Cetyl Phenyl Ether Disulfonate, PEG/PPG-14/4
Dimethicone, PEG-14 Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol,
Caprylyl Glycol, Diethylhexyl Sodium Sulfosuccinate,
Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Sodium Laureth-12 Sulface.

NYX Super Fat Eye Marker

So i think I'm going to try out a new way of reviewing products on here, tell me what you think?

"Here’s a real magic marker: The extra wide felt tip eye liner is perfect for creating a dramatic cat-eye look. The eye marker application is smooth and the striking results are long-lasting and smudge-proof."

PROS: I love how the marker is so large, it makes it much easier to hold than smaller liquid liners as i find it a little awkward trying to find a way to hold a smaller wand and get a steady, precise line. It also dries very quickly.
I also found it to be very inky, which i love- i didn't have to keep drawing on lines because not enough liner would come out.

CONS: The only con i could find with this is that it is really hard to get a thin line across the eyelid, and a thin wing, but i guess would be defeating the purpose of a think tip, right?

PACKAGING: I am a complete sucker for packaging! Like the packaging for the NYX Push Up Bra, i absolutely love the way it has been done. I really like that you can clearly see the product on one side, and the name and about the product are next to it on the other. I like being able to see something that i am going to buy, not having to assume what it is going to be like inside a box.

L'Oreal True Match Powder

I recently decided i was in need of a new setting powder, after having used Nude by Nature for about a year and finally deciding it was much to powdery on my skin for my liking (But i guess that's for another post!). What i like about the product is that it is so light on my skin!
L'Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Powder, Creamy Natural C3In my opinion, it is not something you would use on its own to give coverage as it is a very sheer powder, and i find it better to just use it to set foundation.
The feel of the powder on your finger is literally like velvet! It is so soft!
I really enjoy the packaging of the compact. It has two sections- the product on top, and a compartment underneath that holds the sponge and a mirror.
There isn't really anything about the product specifically that i don't like, but i found that using the sponge to apply the powder on top of foundation leaves a light residue on the sponge that is transferred back onto the powder in the pan and hardens it a little. Having a sponge is a good idea for if you're on the run, but i have never been a fan of sponges as i don't think they distribute the product evenly, so i use my Nude by Nature brush to lightly dab it on my face. I find the brush works well because it is a little more dense than a normal powder brush and i don't struggle to get the powder on to the brush.

I found that you need to be careful when choosing your shade as they are all nearly the same, some are just warmer than others and when held to the light you can only just see a difference between them.
I recommend using a tester to pick your shade, then going into the sun to see what it looks like. I made the mistake of just testing one along my jaw line and buying it, only to realise in the sun it was very orange! At least now i can use that one on the odd chance that i actually do tan.. ha ha
This powder is also quite long wearing and doesn't end up patchy at the end of the day.

Talk soon guys x
